Family Services for Communities in North and Interior BC

Provided by Axis Family Resources

Provides various kinds of family services in the communities of Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, Quesnel, Prince George, Kamloops and Cranbrook.
Axis provides a range of specialized family services in various communities across the North and Interior of BC. Services range from family or caregiver support, intensive family interventions, supervised visitation, and parent education. Participating families are referred by MCFD and in some cases through self-referral or referral by other community partners.

Families who take part in our programming are typically experiencing stress due to behaviour challenges of children and youth in their homes, temporary placement of children and youth in foster care, addiction and mental health issues on the part of different family members, domestic violence, neglect, poverty, or managing the challenges around the special needs or medical conditions of children or youth.

The following programs are offered:
  • In the Cariboo (Williams Lake and 100 Mile House), they offer Family-Based Interventions, which include Caregiver Support, Family Outreach and a Toolbox of Resources.
  • In Quesnel, they offer Family Support Services, which include FASD Keyworker Support, Parent Education and Supported Visitation.
  • In Prince George, they offer Family-Based Supports, which includes Family Support and Key Worker Support for families dealing with FASD.
  • In Cranbrook, they offer Family Support, Family Counselling, Behavioural Support, FASD Key Worker and Parent Support, and a Sexual Abuse Intervention Program.
  • In Kamloops and Gold Trail communities, they offer FASD Key Worker Support, as well as Behavioural Support for families including children and youth with special needs.
