Provided by ElderDog
Provides volunteer support for seniors to care for their dogs
ElderDog provides a range of assistance and supports, including:
- Assistance with obtaining food and feeding.
- Assistance with animal hygiene.
- Minor grooming such as nail clipping or help with brushing.
- Transportation to and from vet or groomer.
- Temporary care during hospitalization.
Volunteers visit with seniors and their canine companions for several purposes such as:
- assisting seniors with exercising their dogs;
- delivering or picking up dog food from a grocery or pet store;
- light tasks associated with animal hygiene;
- minor grooming such as nail clipping or help with brushing;
- transportation to and from vet or groomer;
- temporary care during hospitalization
ElderDog volunteers will visit seniors at home and help with basic dog care activities.
ElderDog volunteers who work with seniors wear approved photo ID and have completed criminal record checks.
