BounceBack Program - Skills to Overcome Depression or Anxiety - For Youth

Provided by Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)

Provides free access to materials and resources that can all be customized to fit the individual needs of those 13-18 years old experiencing anxiety and/or mild to moderate depression (PHQ-9 score 21 or lower).
BounceBack teaches effective skills to help youth ages 13-18 overcome symptoms of mild to moderate depression or anxiety, and improve their mental health. Participants can learn skills to help combat unhelpful thinking, manage worry and anxiety, and become more active and assertive.

BounceBack offers three program delivery methods for the patient to access:
  • BounceBack Coaching: Over a series of 4-6 scheduled telephone sessions with a coach, the patient will chose relevant and customized workbooks to work through. This service is available in English, French, Cantonese, and Mandarin. A referral from a primary care provider is required to access this service: fill out an eligibility check online to start the referral process. If you are eligible, print off the form here for a health provider or school counsellor to fill, OR direct them to the online referral option
  • BounceBack Today Video: Access to these videos provides practical tips for managing mood, building confidence, and more. Videos are available online in English, French, Arabic, Farsi, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Punjabi. No referral is required to access this service.
  • BounceBack Online: An independent, self-guided online program with access to 20 modules that include workbooks, interactive worksheets and videos. No referral is required to access this service.
