Provides a variety of programs and resources for seniors in Kamloops.
Provides various programs for seniors to improve their wellness and increase social interaction. The programs offered include:
  • Secret Santa: CSI offers a program that delivers gifts to seniors in the community who are isolated and spend the holidays alone. This program relies on the generosity of the community.
  • Take & Bake Meals: Enjoy delicious, homemade meals prepared by experienced chefs. High quality, affordable, frozen meals that can be reheated in minutes. Single portions are available for $5.00.
  • Experience 50+ Living: Experience is a one-stop resource for everything related to the 50+ community in the Thompson Okanagan. Explore ever-changing articles and insightful comments from the Experience Community. Find relevant information, practical solutions, and updates on current issues to help individuals, families, and loved ones live better within their community.
  • Fraud Awareness Program: This program is available for group’s presentations and is designed to help educate and create awareness about the different types of fraud. A variety of Fraud Awareness Presentations include Identity Theft, Credit Card Fraud, Charity Scams, Investment Fraud, Affinity Fraud and Internet Fraud.
  • Elder Abuse Awareness Program: Offers help, education, referral and promote community outreach and awareness about how to recognize the signs and symptoms of Elder Abuse and what steps that can be taken to report suspected abuse. Many individuals experiencing various forms of abuse rely on CSI to provide information, support and referral. CSI fills a need in the community as there is limited assistance for people who are competent to make their own decisions but are still vulnerable to abuse, intimidation and neglect.
  • Information & Referral: CSI provides a wide range of information and resource materials about Community Organizations and Services, Health and Wellness, Mental Health, Housing, Legal, and Government and contains hundreds of brochures, documents and booklets.
  • Advocacy & Mentoring: Personalized assistance and referral for seniors requiring one to one help with personal issues or experiencing difficulties coping with life changes. For more information please click here.
  • CRA Income Tax Program: During tax season specially trained CSI volunteers provide assistance for seniors on fixed income to help complete and to submit their annual tax. They work closely with the Canada Revenue Agency Volunteer Tax Program.
Individuals must be a member to take part in the programs. An individual membership is $15 annually.
